I recognize that many of my friends vote differently than I do and that diversity makes this country the best in the world.
You may not agree with the present government but voting against this coalition is the right thing to do as consent will undermine all that our forefathers have worked hard to build: DEMOCRACY.
Approval of this coalition open’s a ‘Pandora’s Box’ and most importantly sends a clear message to our youth that their vote DOES NOT count. (The best thing about Canada is that a democracy gives you the right to agree, sign & forward this e-mail, or disagree and delete )
Please take a moment to express your thoughts about our current political situation! PLEASE FORWARD to as many CANADIANS as possible. No – this isn’t a chain letter. No, you won’t have good luck or win the lottery, but you may just get the opportunity to exercise your right to vote, instead of having your vote erased by those that claim to “know better” than we as the Canadian electorate. Signing takes only a minute, forwarding just a second – the results can last a lifetime! http://www.PetitionOnline.com/CANADIAN/petition.html

( 0 / 0 )I always love telling our success stories with our accounts, and here's one that I have to share. Our client, Wings Up! in Hamilton was in need of growing their business.
Here is what we did to deliver some foottraffic through the door.
Phase 1 - get some customers names to send them something. We prepared the ballot box, ballots ad the incentives together. We had over 200 names and were ready to proceed.
Phase 2- prepare the Mingle. We had the Mingle recorded by store owner Mark from Wings Up! in Hamilton. We then had to prepare an enewsletter with a coupon and send it out. It was delivered (emailed) on Thursday. There was over 60 opened emails and further 11 people that came in to redeem. This was a raving success with over 18% ROI.
You are welcome to see the Mingle and enewsletter at this location. Just note that it expires on December 1, 2008!

( 2.5 / 2 )I graduated way back in 1996 at Mohawk College in the Radio Broadcasting department. I was recently asked to show up for a guest speaking to the multi-media class. I'm not sure the focus of the course exactly, but it was nice to be included as a guest to their class.
I was asked some questions that really had me rethink myself and the company as a whole. These were good questions, and I thought I would share them with you as well so you can ask yourself the same question:
1. Success. I was asked about my success. I have to admit. I don't think I'm successful. That is of course my opinion and to someone else, my position and what we have done is considered success. Success to me is when I can no longer have to concern myself with working another day to sustain my daily life to meet my financial needs and where I can choose the time I wish to spend with my family without any stress of how am I going to afford doing any activity we partake in. Now that's a hell of a description, but that's my thoughts on success. Therefore, I could be deemed not successful at all right at the moment. :)
2. Should you volunteer? Interesting question. I believe the word is yes. The challenge, convincing a small business (including mine) that you are worth the value of the volunteering. Volunteering in theory means "free labour". I'd like to introduce to you that the word FREE labour doesn't work in life. Why? Easy, when someone comes in to volunteer it takes more resources from our company to spend and train on that person to help them better understand what it is we do. Therefore, volunteering can sometimes cost the company more money than if we just hire the person. Volunteers can not show up, when we might need them and there is no discipline to the person(s). What are you going to do, fire them? Not that they are going to put it on their resume. I don't submit to the volunteer easily. That doesn't mean that I won't accept a volunteer. Bottom line: I want a return on my investment. if someone was to volunteer in our company and I'd accept, I want to see that the time i'd invest in my staff and myself to talk and train this person about what we need done should be this persons chance to seek full time employment. Now, that make sense for me to give the person a volunteer gig. I should mention that my career started with me volunteering at a radio station. That opportunity gave me the chance to grow in the industry. That said, I also fought hard from being a volunteer to getting a paid job!
3. What is my biggest Challenge since opening my business. Interesting, I threw the question back to the students. It took me finally giving hints to finally get the answers. The only and biggest issue in my life of running this business is the Government. They are the keepers of operation, and if you don't follow the rules or abide by how they work. They can and will shut you down, and personally hold you liable for the money owed. Anything else relating to the challenge of business are headaches, but nothing like the challenge of learning ALL the rules of the governments. Federal, Provincial, WSIB, Municipal and of course all regulations that relate to your industry. Fun!
Thanks to the students for hearing my long life story and my input to my company, interesting that I'm sure some of them I could be hiring one day to help grow my business in the coming future!
